MN+MR=writing Curious Venus and Curious Tibby and dinosaur stories

Earlier this year, Grandma and Grandpa adopted two Scottie dogs, Tibby and Venus. They are very sweet dogs, and M+M had a great time playing with the them while we were staying with Grandma and Grandpa. Tonight, MR decided to write a story about Curious Venus. MN helped and then wanted to write a story about Curious Tibby.

Venus had two bestest friends named MR and MN. They walked to the store to go get Dunkin Donuts and cotton candy and toilet paper. They stayed at the stores to play with Venus and then they went out to dinner. Then it was Halloween, Valentine's, Christmas, Givings Day, and Easter. And then it was winter and they got to play in the snow.

The End.

Curious Tibby ate turkey bones. It made him sick. His best friends, M+M, brought him to the doctor. He feeled better. He got his shots and a treat.

The End.

MR=playing with Squiggily Harry

This afternoon, i drove M+M to the playground we used to walk to when we lived in NJ. It was a beautiful fall afternoon and i was very surprised that the playground was empty, but the girls had a blast having it all to themselves! After playing for a while, the girls spotted a worm and named him Squiggly Harry. MN later changed his name.

MR=playdate

Today was our niece's confirmation. Congratulations CE! We were very excited to be able to attend and had a blast celebrating all day with family. M+M had a super time playing with their cousins!

After spending all day with family, we drove over to visit our dog and had a great dinner out with some of our neighbors in our old neighborhood.

We've had such a great time visiting everyone, but it makes me remember how much we miss them!

MN=getting my pony

MR=getting my new book

Today, Bill and i got to indulge in one of our favorite pastimes... Shopping at Marshall's! Bill always finds great clothes for himself and the girls, and i can sometimes find something for myself. Today i found a cool tee that i liked! Since we left behind a virtual toy store of play options at my sister's house, we let the girls pick one thing to bring back to Grandma and Grandpa's house to play with for the next few days. MN picked a pony and MR picked out a new book. MR is super interested in the I Spy books. It is very easy for her to find the objects, but i think she likes the pictures of actual things as opposed to drawings. I was just so excited that one of the girls picked a book!

MN=pumpkin spectacular and getting my llama (Luna Moonflower)
MR=getting my puppy, Sugar

As a reward for behaving excellently at the wedding on Saturday, today we took the girls to the American Girl Store in Natick. MN adores the Elizabeth doll (which she hopes Santa will deliver), and picked out the llama that goes along with the girl of the year. She named the llama "Luna Moonflower". MR is not particularly interested in any specific doll, but really likes all the little animals. She picked out a puppy named "Sugar". We had a great time looking around at everything and got some great ideas for Christmas and birthday presents.

After a yummy dinner of salads and burgers at Ruby Tuesday, we headed the Roger Williams Park Zoo for the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. All of the years we lived in NJ and would travel to MA and RI to see my family, we would see signs for the JOL Spectacular on the highway. We finally attended in 2007 when it was held at McCoy Stadium (i think due to zoo construction). The jack-o-lanterns were amazing, but the setting was hard to navigate. This was sooo much better:

MN+MR=riding in the car to and from Connecticut

Today we had a playdate with some of our old friends in Connecticut... I thought the playdate would be #1, but i think the munchkins pushed the car ride into first place! ;)

MN=going to the museum
MR=seeing the butterflies

Today we met our aunt, our cousin and her boyfriend for a fun and yummy brunch. I was so happy to be able to visit with them a little more as the rehearsal and the wedding were (super fun, but) loud.

After eating, we headed to the Museum of Science in Boston. We walked around the galleries, went to a planetarium show, and went to the butterfly garden.

MN=playing with our friends
MR=going to the big apple

We spent today recovering from the wedding, enjoying a favorite fall activity from my childhood, and seeing old friends... It was a gorgeous fall day in New England (the kind it is famous for), and we tried to take advantage of it by visiting the Big Apple in Wrentham, MA with Amy, Paul, PS, and my mom. We made the same trip last year before leaving for Juneau, but the weather today was much nicer! We took the tractor ride, watched apples being sorted, and bought popcorn, donuts, apples, and pies. My parents took Amy, Mike and i here every year when we were kids and we have tons of fond memories... Now we are making more!

Last year's ride on the tractor:

I have no pictures from our afternoon with friends... I was too busy talking! Friends of ours from college came with their kiddos for an afternoon bbq... One family brought a yummy pie and the most delicious cider donuts i have ever eaten, the other family brought their famous potato dish - yum! We let the kids run around inside and out, and had a fabulous time eating, drinking, and catching up. I had so much fun, but at the end of the night i realized that 2 weeks was not enough time to catch up and see everyone that i wanted to during our trip. I guess there is never enough time for the ones that you love... I hope you all will come visit! :)

As we were buckling the kids in their car seats for the ride home from the Big Apple, a sweet little voice uttered the following...

MR=Hi Pumpkin! What do you feel like doing today? Would you like to get carved?

MR=playing with PS and Sissie

My mother, Amy, and i had a great time today having the kids' pictures taken. We've had pictures of them taken in their Halloween costumes for the last 3 years. It's always been a hoot trying to get the three of them to smile at the same time, and today was no different. I can't believe that next year there will be two girls and two boys!
