Once it started getting light earlier and the snow melted downtown and on days it wasn't raining and on the days when B isn't traveling, i started walking around for my workouts instead of heading to the gym. On my first stroll (about a month ago), i found the beginning of the Mt. Roberts Trail. I walked all the way to the top of the stairs, looked to the right, and saw that the trail was still covered in snow. Today (after after working on Perseverance Trail since last week) i decided to try Mt. Roberts Trail again. It was a lot harder then Perseverance, but really fun! I think i made it almost to the end (the top of Mt. Roberts) but ran into too much snow to keep going.
(i'm only wearing day hikers and carrying a bottle of water and have to be home by 7am so B can get to work) I guess i have to wait a little longer to try to get to the top. Maybe the incoming rain can help out! No wildlife today (On Monday i saw a bear and on Tuesday i saw a mountain goat and 2 bears!), but since the trail was narrow and steep, i was glad to be alone.

Hi Erin!
I love your blog! You need to bring a better camera with you than your phone! I can't imagine leaving your house for a walk and seeing bear...more than once! Amazing. I hope you are doing well! Have you had many visitors? Think you'll ever move back here? Where to next?
Have I shown you Brenden's blog? Wanna see?
Thank, Kari! I'd love to see Brenden's blog, you'll have to send me the link!
I keep thinking i should bring my camera with me, but i don't have a great zoom lens, so i'm not sure how much better the pics would be.
My mom came to visit in March. Bill's parents are coming in June and my sister, brother-in-law, and nephew are coming in late July or early August. I hope more people decide to come visit too!
In between visitors, we're planning trips to Kodiak, Sitka, Homer, and Anchorage. When we lived in Hawai'i, we never made it to all the islands and we kick ourselves now. I know there is no way we could see this whole state in 2 years, but we're going to try to see as much as we can!
I have no idea what's ahead for us in terms of location. We'd love to head back to CT or NJ or almost anywhere in New England, but we'll have to wait and see...
