MN+MR: Ritter Sport Museum and Store

Today we drove about an hour south of our home to visit the Ritter Sport Museum and Store. It's a small museum, but truth be told, the main draw for us was the store! ;) We've been enjoying Ritter chocolate since we moved to Germany and had a great time reading about chocolate making and the history of the company. We each picked a few bars and had fun trying them out on the drive home.

What do chocolate and "sport" possibly have to do with one another?? Love the updates, Kramer

I always thought it was a funny name too... It turns out that Clara Ritter (wife of the founder) had the idea to make the Ritter bars square so they would fit into a sport jacket pocket. The bars are square, but the same weight as a rectangular bar. There was lots more stuff to learn, but that's what stuck in the short time i was allowed to read before M&M dragged me into the shop! ;)
