Here are some pictures from the last week in July...
On Monday, July 27th i headed to Mt. Roberts Trail for a change of pace. The forest is in full bloom, but again the spiders got to me. When i got to the branch of the trail that would take me back to Basin Road, i took it...
On Tuesday, July 28th, I went back to my favorite trail. I have long been trying to capture the crazy, flowy fog that hangs in the basin, and this is my best shot so far. I had a couple minutes before having to turn back, so i headed down the path to the overlook of Ebner Falls. I almost took a Devil's Club to the face, but managed to "found my balance" (as MN likes to say) before falling into it. The view was worth the near miss. On the way back down to Basin Road, i got a shot of the fog hanging over town.
On Wednesday, July 29th, i noticed how well groomed the trail is:
On Thursday, July 30th, i couldn't resist taking this picture of the clear, blue sky:
and of this sweet pink flower in a garden that i admire on Basin Road:
On Saturday, August 1st, i was told there was a young bear in the woods "up there". I wasn't sure if the person who passed along this information meant the wooded area between the road and the trail, or further up the trail in the woods. I didn't see it anywhere. However, i had forgotten my bell and decided that this was far enough to go by myself:
My sister, brother-in-law, and nephew arrive on Thursday afternoon. I hope the rain stays away a little while longer so i can show them all my favorite spots and discover some new ones too!
