After feeding the kiddos dinner, Amy, Paul, the kids and i headed out to the glacier to see the spawning salmon and hopefully bears. My friend A lives near the glacier and has had good luck seeing bears around this time of night...
When we arrived, we went straight to the Steep Creek viewing platform and saw the salmon. Well, we could smell them before we saw them! Let's say that the bears are not great about cleaning up after themselves!! We then headed on the trails over toward the glacier and saw a young bear drinking and later saw another eating in the woods. So neat to not have to go to a zoo! After seeing the bears, we walked over toward the edge of the lake where the kids kicked gravel into the water to "make waves for the icebergs". Looking forward to seeing more bears and having lots more fun!
