On Saturday morning, everyone (except me) went to the State Museum. This is always one of M+M's fav outings and they had a great time showing their cousin the big boat in the children's room. For lunch, we headed to the Coast Guard Picnic celebrating the birthday of the US Coast Guard. There was a ton of fun picnic food, games and goody bags for the kiddos, and a helicopter flew over the festivities. After naptime, the dads took the cousins to the playground, and then we all headed downtown for a ride to the top of Mt Roberts on the tram. After a nice warm bath for the three kids, the adults settled into a game of CG Monopoly that ended up lasting all week!
On Sunday, we headed up to Basin Road and took a walk on the Flume Trail. After nap, the kiddos were treated to some fun at Project Playground aka Castle Playground. For dinner, we enjoyed some delicious fare at Twisted Fish.
On Monday, we drove over to North Douglas and took a hike out to False Outer Point. It was a bight sunny morning and we saw eagles and lots of tide pool creatures. Amy joined me at the girls dance class in the afternoon, and for dinner we joined friends and their visiting family for a cookout at Auke Rec.
On Tuesday, we drove to Sheep Creek to check out the salmon and then to the end of the road in Thane and took a short hike. In the late afternoon, Amy and i got to enjoy dinner at Tracy's and Harry Potter on the big screen. (Thanks for waiting to see it with me, Amy!)
On Wednesday morning, i managed to get Paul up early to go hiking with me! Later in the morning we visited DIPAC. We enjoyed a great dinner at The Hangar and then the guys went fishing.
Thursday took us on a fantastic whale watch followed by a visit to The Southeast Waffle Co for lunch (yum!)
On the last day of their trip, we took a walk on Brotherhood Bridge Trail. It was raining steadily, but took shelter on the wooded trail. We had fun jumping puddles and checking out the mosses.
As i knew it would be, their visit was much too short! We did lots of things, but also let the kiddos hang and play together which was so much fun to watch. Love you guys, miss you!
