Today i parked along side the Mendenhall River...
As i walked along the path, i came to a beach and saw a bench in the distance. I walked to the bench and had a seat to admire the glacier in the distance...
As i ventured further, i came across Moose Lake...
I was in the same vicinity as i had been with A yesterday, I had just come in a different way. I actually ended up in the same spot we were at...
I ran into a couple women walking their dog who warmed me that there might be a bear in the area. That kept me from taking the path i had intended to... I had my bell, but i was alone and thought i was making a smart choice. I later ran into a man and his dog who told me not to worry about the bears: "They are across the crick in the subdivision looking for food in the trash." He also mentioned the local wolf: "He's by the gun club now, probably won't cross back over the river until part of it freezes." Bears and wolves, maybe i need to stick to my fav downtown trails where i only have to worry about bears! ;)
Despite the chance of running into some wild wildlife, i'm glad i took a chance on somewhere new today...
