A toast to a change in plans...

Today didn't go quite as planned...  We never made it to town for the butterfly program or the Alutiiq Museum, but we did visit the Fisheries Research Center on Near Island (connected to Kodiak Island by a short bridge) this morning.  The four of us had the tank and guide to ourselves and the girls got to hold sea stars and crabs and tickle anemones:

a Decorator Crab - they actually decorate their shells with seaweed!

After nap, we headed back to Pasagshak for beachtime, surfing, and a campfire dinner.  Bill surfed while the girls removed their skirts and jackets and proceeded to play in the icy water.  Bill made a great little fire and we roasted bison dogs, but i did forget the marshmallows!

So, my Wednesday wasn't what i thought it was going to be, but that's more than ok by me!  ;)
